Shibboleth unplanned service degradation - update (9/8/15 8:44am)

We received a new report on Friday evening of a Shibboleth login failure that may be related to last week's issues. Staff are looking into it. If you encounter any Shibboleth login errors, please send a report to the Tech Desk (techdesk@uoregon.edu) that includes: 1) the affected username (Duck ID), 2) the time of attempted login, and 3) a screenshot of the error.

We have received several additional confirmations of previously affected users now being able to log in to services via Shibboleth, and no new reports of login failures. We believe this issue has now been resolved for users who had previously been experiencing problems. On Tuesday, Sept. 8, staff will continue monitoring the situation. If you encounter any Shibboleth login errors, please report the affected username (Duck ID), time of attempted login, and a screenshot of the error to the Technology Service Desk (techdesk@uoregon.edu; 541-346-4357).

Pending confirmation from more of the affected users, Information Services staff tentatively believe that the Shibboleth login issue experienced by certain users has been resolved. We would appreciate any reports of successful (or unsuccessful) logins by previously affected users to the Technology Service Desk (techdesk@uoregon.edu; 541-346-4357).

Shibboleth unplanned service degradation

On Sept. 2, Information Services received reports that some users are receiving errors when trying to log in to Canvas (https://canvas.uoregon.edu). Staff have since determined that the issue is not specific to Canvas, but actually affects the Shibboleth login service, which is used by many UO services. Also, only a small group of users appears to be affected. Staff continue working to restore service to those users.

10-minute long widespread service outage

Campus experienced a widespread service outage this morning beginning around 8:21am. Services impacted include web hosting, Blackboard, Exchange email, Duck ID, and more.

RT outage resolved

The RT service outage was resolved around 11:45am.

RT (ithelp.uoregon.edu) is experiencing a service outage.

When trying to load ithelp.uoregon.edu, users receive a webpage not available error message.

Staff are working to restore service.

Git was restored at 8:37am today.

git.uoregon.edu is unavailable

Attempts to access Git (git.uoregon.edu) are failing with a "503" error. Staff are working to resolve the issue.

Talisma CRM Email Outage Resolved

The Talisma email issue reported on 8/3/15 was resolved around 12pm on 8/5/15.
