OSPF Default Route HA Service Degradation - Resolved

This service degradation has been resolved.

OSPF Default Route HA Service Degradation

During our maintenance window this morning, changes were made to the Campus Border routers (uonet9-gw and uonet10-gw). These routers distribute a default route to the rest of the UO core routers. This is done via two different protocols, OSPF and BGP. Right now, only uonet9-gw is advertising a default route via OSPF. Since OSPF takes precedence over BGP, the other core routers are only seeing a default route from uonet9. We have confirm that a default route is being advertised via BGP from Both routers. Thus if uonet9-gw failed, the OSPF route would be removed and traffic would flow through uonet10-gw, via the BGP advertised route. However, a failover in this scenario has not been tested.

Active Directory unplanned partial outage

Active Directory (AD) is experiencing a service degradation causing intermittent issues with account provisioning and password changes. Since earlier today (Nov. 11), we've been receiving reports of two different symptoms that likely result from the same underlying issue. Some Exchange administrators have reported difficulty provisioning and deprovisioning Exchange roles. In addition, a handful of users who have changed their Duck ID passwords are unable to log in to services that use AD for authentication, such as library and lab computers. Staff are working to restore service. If you have any questions, please contact the Technology Service Desk (techdesk@uoregon.edu; 541-346-4357).
