vCenter Web Client unplanned partial outage

One of the services is not running. This service is required for the inventory to display. It will show up as blank to everyone. Staff are working on the issue. As mentioned in the notification message to isvmwareannounce@lists.uoregon.edu, if you have a VM with Information Services and have specific needs during this service degradation (e.g., taking or reverting snapshots, powering VMs on or off), please let us know. We can do those actions manually.

CampusNexus CRM Email Flow Stopped

As of 7:54 am on 5/5/2016 email has stopped flowing into or out of the CampusNexus CRM. We are working closely with the vendor to provide a solution.

From 12:26pm to 12:32pm today (5/4/16), the login services for many web-based UO services were unavailable, preventing people from logging in. The service outage affected Shibboleth, the system that logs users in to Canvas, UO Blogs, the Career Center's DuckConnect service, and others. It also affected CAS, a login protocol used by a handful of other services.

From 9:43pm to 9:50pm today (5/1/16), the login services for many web-based UO services were unavailable, preventing people from logging in. The service outage affected Shibboleth, the system that logs users in to Canvas, UO Blogs, the Career Center's DuckConnect service, and others. It also affected CAS, a login protocol used by a handful of other services.

Red Hat Satellite Server outage resolved

Users are once again able to log in to the Red Hat Network Satellite server at https://rhn.uoregon.edu/rhn/Login.do.

Red Hat Satellite Server unplanned outage

Users are currently unable to log in to the Red Hat Satellite server. When attempting to login to RHN at https://rhn.uoregon.edu/rhn/Login.do, they receive an internal server error saying "The server experienced a problem which prevented your request from being filled out. It may not be possible to execute this action at this time. Please help us correct this problem by contacting us with details of how you received this message." Staff are working on the issue.

Unexpected Outage to CampusNexus CRM

At approximately 3:26 PM on Wednesday April 27th, 2016 users reported being unable to access the CampusNexus CRM, also known as Talisma.

As of 3:40 PM, we are working with Campus Management (CMC) on a resolution. This post will be updated as things progress.

Brief unplanned outage update

The brief unplanned outage reported earlier this afternoon around 2:30pm appears to have been a symptom of a firewall failure.

For approximately 10 minutes, the firewall lost communication with it’s peer. Staff are still determining the root cause of the unplanned outage.

If you or your department has a VM (virtual machine) hosted in the 128.223.162.0/24 subnet, your service or system may have been impacted.

From approximately 2:11pm to 2:24pm, there was a brief unplanned outage of the following services: Jabber, Wiki, vCenter, UO Docs, and McAfee EPO.

Staff are working to identify the full scope of impacted services.
