OneDrive and Office 365 web app tiles fix deployed

Microsoft has implemented a fix for the Office 365 tiles problem, and some users are reporting that they can successfully use Office 365 web applications and browser OneDrive.

Starting tomorrow (Saturday, 9/17), if you or one of your users continue to encounter a situation where Office 365 web apps are labeled "Setting up...", please notify the Tech Desk at techdesk@uoregon.edu.

OneDrive and Office 365 update for the morning of 9/16

Microsoft believes they have found a solution to the Office 365 tiles problem, and after successfully testing that solution yesterday, they announced that they are rolling out that fix to affected customers. If that roll-out goes as planned, we expect to see the issue resolved at some point today.

This informational update refers to the OneDrive and Office 365 incident that began on 9/8/16. When a user logs in to http://office.uoregon.edu, the Microsoft online applications are not clickable, and they are labeled "Setting up...". In addition, on your home page, Office 365 displays only recent files, which may limit your access to a file or folder.

There are workarounds for accessing OneDrive and the online Office apps. To access all of your OneDrive files, log in to Office 365 via http://office.uoregon.edu and then paste this URL into your web browser: http://uoregon-my.sharepoint.com. Opening a file from OneDrive will open the respective online application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). To create a new file, use the "New" menu near the top of the window. Alternatively, use the versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint that are installed on your computer.

OneDrive and Office 365: update for Wednesday, 9/14

Microsoft reports they have identified the source of the problem and are testing the solution. Currently, they estimate that this issue should be fixed by the end the day on Friday, 9/16 if testing goes well.

Problem: when logging in to Office 365 (https://office.uoregon.edu), the online apps are disabled and are labeled with "Setting up...".
