Amazon Web Services (AWS) is experiencing a major service degradation, affecting many web services in the U.S. Here's what we know so far about impacts at the University of Oregon:

  • Canvas is unavailable.
  • Smartsheet is unavailable.
  • Some Duck ID notifications, such as about password expirations, may have failed to go out earlier today.

  • Duck ID account partial outage (Oct. 11-14): Most affected users should now be able to access most UO services. UOmail mailboxes have been restored for most affected users. Unfortunately, there’s no way to recover incoming email that bounced between Friday night (Oct. 10) and Monday (Oct. 13). People may be prompted to register for Duo again. If you're still having account issues, please submit a ticket in the UO Service Portal (no login needed, but please mention your Duck ID username.)

  • Wi-Fi service degradation (Oct. 15): We're getting reports of problems with Wi-Fi in several buildings on the Eugene campus. UO staff are working on the issue.
