The outage scope was specifically DuckWeb 9, which is recognizable as the areas behind Shibboleth Single Sign-on (SSO) such as the Employee Dashboard Application. DuckWeb experienced an unplanned partial outage over the weekend, but it has since been restored. It was down from Friday evening until approximately 7:30am today, Monday, April 7. The outage scope was specifically DuckWeb 9, which is recognizable as the areas behind Shibboleth Single Sign-on (SSO) such as the Employee Dashboard Application.

Information Services staff are investigating reports that some areas of DuckWeb are unavailable for some users. People may incorrectly see a maintenance message instead of the pages they're trying to access.

The Duck ID account system returned to normal availability for all users around 1:30 PM on Thursday, April 3.

The Duck ID account system remains in a degraded state.

Yesterday, we reported that the people data import from Banner had been unable to complete since March 31. This was delaying Duck ID functionality such as a new account claims and other data updates like names and job titles. 

The impacted group of accounts has been queued for repair. However, the system is still running this reprocessing late into the morning today (Thursday, March 3). The result is system slowness. Additionally, those with administrative level access such as credentialing agents and HR partners able to reserve custom Duck ID usernames may find they're unable to complete their normal tasks due to slowness or errors.

Information Services staff are continuing to monitor the situation and work with our Duck ID vendor.

  • Any student/employee who had their student/employee record in Banner first activated on 3/31 (and forward) is unable to claim their new account.
  • Any existing account that had other Banner data change, such as a legal name change or additional job information added, will not see this reflected on their Duck ID account yet.

Information Services staff have escalated this issue to our Duck ID system vendor. As of 5pm, the vendor had found the cause of the issue, but resolution is still pending. Next expected update will be Thursday, April 3 by noon.
