The University of Oregon is extending its Dropbox service into March 2026. Dropbox users will receive more specific guidance in the coming months, after Information Services and the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation form a project team to support the university’s 17-month transition to other data storage services. No immediate action is required. Learn more in OregonNews, on the Future of UO Data Storage webpage, and in the October 21 email to Dropbox users.

Information Services previously announced a new storage limit of 100 GB per person for the UO Dropbox service. The existing grace period will now extend through the end of the current Dropbox contract (March 2025), barring another unexpected increase in storage usage. The quota isn't being enforced, so even people who exceed 100 GB of storage can continue to open, edit, sync and add files to Dropbox. However, Dropbox users are asked to use the service in moderation. If usage increases dramatically, we may need to start enforcing the quota. Learn more in Around the O and on the Information Services website.
