UO staff believe they've solved the problem that was causing delivery of some email messages to fail (with a bounce) or be delayed. Messages that were queued by the system are beginning to process.

A connection problem between two components of the UO's mail system is causing delivery of some email messages to fail (with a bounce) or be delayed. UO staff are working on the issue.

The Sept. 17 maintenance on the university's email system was completed around 11:30 a.m.

On Sunday, Sept. 17, starting at 8:00 a.m., UO staff plan to perform maintenance on a component of the university's email system. That work could delay mail flow for up to 12 hours, until 8:00 p.m. Specifically, it could delay emails between UOmail accounts and non-UOmail accounts inside and outside the university. (Emails between UOmail accounts — that is, between any UO faculty, staff, and student accounts — should be unaffected.)

On Sunday, July 16, UO staff tentatively plan to perform maintenance on a component of the university's email system (timing TBD). UO staff don't expect the work to cause any noticeable impacts. However, it could delay email delivery between UOmail accounts and non-UOmail accounts inside and outside the university.

On Thursday, June 22, from 6am-8am, UO staff will perform maintenance on a component of the university's email system. The work isn't expected to cause noticeable impacts, but it does have the potential to interrupt mail flow throughout that window.
