Issues with connectivity and slowness over VPN reported early on 11/18/2024 cleared up during the 2 o'clock hour. UO's VPN services are experiencing an unplanned service degradation this morning. From about 11:00 a.m. to 11:25 a.m., people were unable to start new connections to VPN. After that, people could connect again. However, some people are now reporting their VPN connections being intermittent. UO staff are working on the issue.

Previously, people were receiving error messages about an "untrusted server" or "service provider in your current location is restricting access to the Internet." UO VPN should remain available on Wednesday, August 7, during annual power testing by Campus Planning and Facilities Management (CPFM).

On Monday, July 1, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., UO staff will be upgrading core network equipment that serves all UO campuses. Staff expect one or more brief network outages lasting about 15 minutes each, and possible network instability throughout the maintenance window. Impacts will be widespread, affecting Wi-Fi, wired networking in some buildings, UO VPN and some specialized network-dependent services.
