Canvas is experiencing a major national outage at hundreds of institutions across the country. The outage is ongoing, and Instructure, the company that operates Canvas, is aware of the issue. Current guidance at the University of Oregon is as follows:

• Do not attempt to use Canvas. 
• If you are already in Canvas, log off. If it prompts you to perform any action — such as clicking a link, logging in, resetting your password, or completing any tasks — do not proceed. These prompts may not be legitimate while the system is down. 
• Be cautious of any unsolicited messages referencing Canvas, your UO account. 
• Report suspicious messages through https://service.uoregon.edu.
