We are currently experiencing a service outage with Shibboleth, which allows logins to a wide variety of websites such as Blogs, Qualtrics, HR, and so forth. We are working to resolve the issue.
The work scheduled for Tuesday, March 4 between 5am and 7am, has been completed successfully. This project was to replace key directory service (LDAP) servers with new ones. During this period, Webmail experienced a 10 second outage.
On Tuesday, March 4 between 5am and 7am, we will be performing work on a key directory service (LDAP). We do not anticipate any outages during this period. This work falls during a regularly-scheduled maintenance window.
On Monday, March 3 between 5am and 7am, UO's wireless service will be interrupted for an upgrade. The work includes all UO locations (Eugene, Portland, OIMB) and all anchored networks (uowireless, UO Secure, UO Guest, UO Preauth, eduroam). During this work, you will experience sporadic connectivity on the wireless network.
vCenter and the management features it provides is out of service. Staff have engaged the vendor and are working to resolve the issue.
The network is out of service at Moss Street Children's Center, Museum of Natural History, Autzen Stadium South Suite building, and Turner Construction. The outages are the result of weather-induced power outages.
Ice accumulation on trees and power lines have created extremely hazardous conditions on campus. Avoid outdoor travel if possible. Power outages are possible, and when power is lost, wireless and wired networking are unavailable. See alerts.uoregon.edu for more weather information.
Between 4:20pm and 4:45pm on 30-January-2014, calls coming in to campus from off-campus phone numbers did not complete in some cases. Callers heard the phone ring and then no answer. The cause of the problem was identified and the problem resolved at 4:45pm.
