Comment: Some campus phones are experiencing a service degradation. Specifically, when you pick up the handset, there's a loud screeching noise. However, the phones are still able to make and receive calls. Once you dial a number, the noise goes away. This affects some analog phones, including in the EMU, Earl Hall, Esslinger Hall, the Rec Center, and a few other locations.

Comment: Some campus phones are experiencing a service degradation. Specifically, when you pick up the handset, there's a loud screeching noise. However, the phones are still able to make and receive calls. Once you dial a number, the noise goes away. Comment: Telephone call quality issues were first reported on Wednesday, March 4. Staff are working equipment manufacturers to resolve this issue. Not all telephones are experiencing degraded call quality. Around 1pm on 3/6/15, some telephones were restarted. The phones that are most affected are Avaya models 9630, 9608, 1608. (The model number is on the back of the telephone.)
